The Erie County Trappers Association recently selected an active Jr. Member for the Sgt. Daniel Shaw Youth Award which honors one of our members who lost his life in 2007 at the age of 23, fighting for his country in Iraq.  This years award goes to Christian Doyle.  Christian has volunteered at our booth at the Expo and Fair, National Hunting & Fishing & Trapping Day.  He helps with our yearly trash pickup under the Adopt a Highway program.  He also helps getting our fur ready for events and attended the Pat Arnold Youth Trapping Camps for two years at the Camp Rushford site.

Congratulations Christian.

In addition, 7 young trappers were awarded the Herb Eble Award.  An award which began in 2001 to honor all past members with 76 kids to date!  Each wrote an essay “Why I want to be a Trapper”.  At their awards night, Cody, Corbin and Cydney did a great job reading their essays and all won a fur bag filled with everything they will need to start their adventure.  They also received memberships in ECTA, CCTA, and NYSTA.  Anavah, Michael, Adam and R.J. came to our Fur Demo to receive their awards and get some fur handling tips.  Erie County Trappers wish the kids luck and are proud to continue an active Jr. Membership.

Anavah, a recipient of the 2018 Herb Eble award drew this delightful card to give thanks.  Avanah comes from a very artistic family, her siblings Eliora and Zeek thanked us for receiving Awards in 2017.
